The Cologne-based speaker and presenter passed in February after suffering from cancer for decades. She battled cancer for more than twenty years – and shared her experiences with the disease in the end in a WDR podcast. Felix Eisenmeier photographed Franziska and presents us posthumously ‘Sick of it – Statements of a terminally ill person’.

“The following images are an emotional piece of work for me. I was lucky enough to be entrusted with taking pictures for the podcast hosted by Franziska Knost, a well-known and beloved speaker from Cologne. With director Tamer Jandali, she explored issues in life that we have learned to live with but should probably think over. Seven episodes highlight topics such as love, being desirable, career, motherhood and far more. It will make you rethink your point of view on so many things, it will make you smile and laugh, and it will make you cry. At the age of 41, she left us. I am sure everyone who knew her will keep her in their memories as a strong, positive woman, who stood for justice and feminism.”
