‘Turn the tide.’ – JONATHAN SCHULE photographs employees of the State Forestry Administration and ForstBW for the Future Forest campaign

“Our hearts beat for the forest. They always have. Our foresters work everyday on ensuring that the forest in Baden-Württemberg remains healthy and is ready for the future, by caring for it, protecting it, managing it with natural methods and, if necessary, planting additional tree species fit for our changing climate.” says the Ministry of Rural Affairs and Consumer Protection (MLR) of the state Baden-Württemberg.

For the ministry, JONATHAN SCHULE had the pleasure of photographing an extensive campaign, for which he shot employees of the State Forestry Administration and ForstBW. The executive agency was Zum goldenen Hirschen Stuttgart under the direction of CD Roland Welker. Look development and post production were in the hands of Stefan Eisele.

The severe consequences climate change has had for forests are becoming increasingly visible from year to year and in an alarming way. Which countermeasures have been taken by the state government, how state foresters are contributing and what you can do personally are all at the heart of the state-wide information campaign ‘Turn the tide – together for the future of our forests’.

The campaign was organized in cooperation with State Forestry Administration (LFV), Forst Baden-Württemberg (Forst BW) and the Forest Research Institute Baden-Württemberg (FVA), and is running until summer 2022.

Baden-Württemberg is a state in the south-west of Germany which is located on the borders to France and Switzerland. Spanning the mountainous south-west is the evergreen Black Forest with its traditional villages. Located in the state capital Stuttgart is Wilhelma, a royal estate which is today home to a zoological-botanical garden. Porsche and Mercedes-Benz are headquartered in Stuttgart where they also have museums. Hohenzollern Castle, built in the 19th century, is located in the Swabian Alb foothills in the south of the state.

Now for the third consecutive time, JONATHAN SCHULE has been commissioned by Jung von Matt / Hamburg to realize a campaign for Adelholzener Alpenquellen GmbH : “For this project, my team and I took a trip to the Swiss municipality of Zermatt. We spent a whole week there with freeride pros Marion Haerty, Victor de le Rue, Sam Anthamatten and Remco Kayser.” says Jonathan Schule. Photos were shot during the film shoot with ANORAK Film and Sherpas Cinema.

Adelholzener Alpenquellen GmbH is the largest spring in Bavaria and is located in Bad Adelholzen, a district of the Upper-Bavarian town Siegsdorf in the Chiemgau region. Some 600 million bottles are filled each year by the brands Adelholzener and Active O2. Produced alongside the motifs for Active O2 was new photographic material for Adelholzener Mineral Water. And created besides the print motifs were also several side shots for social media channels.

One hundred percent stockholder of the company is The Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy of St. Vincent de Paul in Munich. All profits of the company are used to benefit social purposes. Adelholzener Alpenquellen is successfully represented on the market of more than twenty countries. The second strongest sales market following Germany is Japan.

The landscape shots were taken with helicopter support from Air Zermatt. Jonathan is thrilled to tell us : “Freeride photos from the copter, with the door open directly on the skid !” We present you a few wonderful impressions on GoSee.NEWS as a making-of film.

As a pioneer in the sector, Mineralbrunnen presented its first environmental declaration as early as 1997 in accordance with the EU Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS), which was certified for the third time in 2004. To produce energy, the company operates solar panels on top of the factory halls. The two agricultural enterprises, which are also part of the congregation and supply the food for the company cafeteria, are Bioland certified. In addition to traditional glass bottles, Adelholzener was the first company of Mineralbrunnen in Bavaria in 1998 to introduce PET bottles, which achieve 25 circulations and are therefore 100% recyclable.
