New Signing! Catherine PEARSON c/o MAKING PICTURES with animations for the Lausanne Lumières Festival, 'Neon Jungle' for ADOBE MAX and the Summer campaign for Lausanne Sur Mer on GoSee

MAKING PICTURES presents us works by new illustrator Catherine PEARSON. “We warmly welcome Catherine to the roster. Catherine Pearson is a Swiss illustrator based on the hills of Lausanne, Switzerland. With a Bachelor's degree in Illustration in hand, her world of colorful and detailed illustrations have all found their way into numerous magazines, events, product packaging and advertising campaigns. Her favorite projects so far can vary from a projected video mapping animation on a four-story building (Lausanne Lumières Festival), a range of detailed wallpapers (Adobe Max), as well as a creative poster competition she won for Absolut Vodka Switzerland. She is also co-founder of the local brand The Good Apple, where she enjoys creating artwork & souvenirs inspired by Switzerland's history, land and culture.”

With 'Lausanne Sur Mer', the Swiss town is advertising its summer program, and Catherine PEARSON c/o MAKING PICTURES designed the eye-catching poster : “I really loved traveling through this piece inspired by Lausanne's lakeside & Polynesian vibes with this poster I illustrated for the 20th edition of @lausannesurmer.”

We present her two illustrations for ADOBE MAX. “As part of the CoCreate: MAX illustration team, I was commissioned to create two downloadable artworks for Adobe MAX event attendees. My 'Neon Jungle' theme has a dreamlike atmosphere filled with colorful and shy creatures surrounded by exotic tropical plants. It was created with Adobe Photoshop. Adobe MAX 2020 is a three full-day virtual event with luminary speakers, celebrity appearances, musical performances, and global collaborative art projects.”

We also bring you Catherine's 'ZOOM' project, for which she created animal characters with vibrant colors and contours.

Outdoor adventure in ADIRONDACK LIFE MAG and an illustrated city map of Prague for AIRBNB by cartography and mid-century enthusiast Tom FROESE c/o MAKING PICTURES on GoSee

Tom FROESE c/o MAKING PICTURES illustrated an opener plus a feature on 'Adventure Tales' for ADIRONDACK LIFE MAG : “'Adventure Tales' is a collection of reader-submitted stories of adventure (and misadventure) in the magazine's namesake mountains,” says Tom (Art Director: Mark Mahorsky, agency: RappArt).

For AIRBNB, Tom FROESE – who is represented in the UK and in Europe by MAKING PICTURES – illustrated a city map of Prague with meticulous attention to detail, which we present you here on GoSee. Prague is the capital of the Czech Republic and is located on the Vltava river. The 'City of 100 Spires' is known for its Old Town Square with colorful Baroque buildings, Gothic churches and the medieval astronomical clock, on which an animated glockenspiel is played at the stroke of every hour.

Illustrating maps, by the way, is among the creative’s special skill set. “With bright tapestries of color, landmarks made into miniature icons, and handcrafted lettering, illustrated maps are a wonderful way to connect people to places. Rather than guiding us through physical space, they give us an emotional tour of the land. They help us find our way to the ideas and stories hiding just beneath the surface,” says Tom.

We present you several maps of skiing areas which he illustrated for the GQ France special 'Le Guide Outdoor'. “GQ France publishes an annual outdoor guide, 'Le Guide Outdoor'. They invited me to illustrate several maps of the world's best ski slopes, as well as intro pieces for various sections of the guide.”

Tom FROESE is an award-winning illustrator living and working near Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He creates work that is original, beautiful, and alive. His process straddles both physical and digital techniques. His style is, therefore, typically informed by the honesty and idiosyncrasies of physical media. He has a special place in his heart for travel maps and anything mid-century. Tom’s work can be seen in numerous publications, as well as in various domestic and international retail establishments. On the side, Tom regularly collaborates with Everlovin’ Press to create hand-printed letterpress products.
