Katja Dörner has been active for the Green Party since 1992, becoming a party member in 1998. Meike KENN c/o JULIA WALDMANN photographed the election campaign with the incumbent Mayor of Bonn, Katja Dörner, for Bündnis 90/Die Grünen for the upcoming local elections in Bonn.
"The countdown has begun: In exactly 100 days, the people of Bonn will decide who will lead our city into the future. And although this isn't my first election campaign, it feels special again. Perhaps because I sense how much we've achieved together. Perhaps because I know how much still lies ahead.
I'm eager to continue. With clarity, with courage, and with a great deal of enthusiasm for Bonn. For a city that becomes climate-neutral and sticks together. For a city that listens, decides, and implements. For a strong, livable city for everyone – so that Bonn wins." Katja Dörner, Mayor of Bonn.
Local elections have been held every five years since 2020. Interior Minister Herbert Reul has set the date for the 2025 local elections in North Rhine-Westphalia as September 14, 2025.

"Ten years after the opening of our flagship store in Mitte, YUN can now be found at Kurfürstendamm 11 (or Ku’damm, as the locals call it), in the historic Breitscheidplatz, a landmark of Berlin. The renowned studio, Gonzalez Haase AAS is responsible for the interior design, led by Judith Haase and Pierre Jorge Gonzalez.
The design emphasizes the use of light, drawing inspiration from architect Egon Eiermann’s famous reconstructed church, whose façade is made almost entirely of stained glass. At the center of the store, a multi-sided blue mirror column pays homage to this 1960s memorial, which stands directly across from the shop.
By night, the store’s cool blue tones contrast with the warmly lit display window, evoking the glow of the sun. The space is further defined by elegantly curved aluminum display tables, suspended curtains, and warm wooden surfaces that subtly designate areas for customer service." YUN.

The novel 'Herabsehen auf die DDR' (=Looking Down on the GDR) by Yannick Labbé will be published on October 3, 2025, by Leipzig-based Mosses Schroeter Verlag. The book cover is by Caroline HEINECKE c/o JULIA WALDMANN.
The plot: 1989. A bureaucrat. A pair of binoculars. And a mission to save the Federal Republic of Germany. Uwe Dertenkötter is no hero. He is an auditor. He is dedicated to it, heart, soul, and pencil. But when the Chancellor himself sends him on a journey along the inner-German border, his orderly life is thrown into disarray.
The task: Using high-performance binoculars, Dertenkötter is tasked with investigating where investments in the territory of the GDR would be worthwhile. Accompanied by the shady driver Humpe, the business trip turns into a road trip into political madness: border villages, secret meetings, conspiracy, escape – and what begins as a meticulous administrative assignment turns into a quirky and comical odyssey through a country that is soon to disappear.
A satirical journey through time, deeply rooted in historical details – clever, absurd, wicked,...

What did people used to eat on trains? And how has the experience of travel shifted between the romance of the dining car and the plastic trays of the TGV? The Food-Express exhibition at Paris’s Ground Control explores exactly these questions – taking visitors on a visual and atmospheric journey through 140 years of railway cuisine.
On display are historical menus, porcelain bearing railway logos, vintage advertisements, and photographs that document not only the evolution of onboard meals but also the changing culture of train travel itself. From the elegance of the Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits to the modern-day bistro carriage, Food-Express offers insights into what was served – and what it meant.
The exhibition is part of this summer’s season at Ground Control, the vibrant cultural hub next to Gare de Lyon where food, art, music and community come together. Admission is free – and whether you’re in the mood for a nostalgic journey back to the golden age of rail or just looking for a new perspective on your next train-station sandwich, it’s well worth a visit.
