Shot on 16mm, this cinematic promo for British charity COMIC RELIEF, in which actor Peter Mullan plays a grandfather passing on words of wisdom to his grandchild, is a reminder in these increasingly divided times that we have more in common with each other than we might think. Filmed in a residential flat in Glasgow - and, as LS PRODUCTIONS tells GoSee is 'a showcase of the beauty found in the everyday'. the spot is a collaboration between Wonderhood Studios, Pulse Films and LS Productions is the perfect love letter to COMIC RELIEF's incredible work raising over £1.2billion over the last 30 years.
LS PRODUCTIONS tells GoSee : "With a unit of sixty-five people shooting in a small residential flat, including one VIP talent and three babies with parents, the production team was all systems go; adapting to any challenges to keep the cogs turning behind-the-scenes so that this beautifully crafted ad could come to life on screen. The visuals in this as are reminders of the everyday lives of people in the UK, hence the importance of sourcing an authentic, everyday home. The director wanted a 1960's or 1970's style flat within a residential tower block surrounded by other housing estates, with lived-in interiors that were full of character. The shoot location was secured the day prior to both the pre-light and art department prep. Our in-house production and location teams on the ground worked tirelessly to ensure the set perfectly met the brief for this national TV spot to appear the following week on BBC One."
Thanks to extensive online network and relationships with local landlords, housing associations and councils, the LS LOCATIONS team was able to secure the property to match this brief within just 24 hours.
