The production company 70 SEVEN is now providing a broader range of services and represents STEVE MARAIS, an international and simpatico fashion & lifestyle photographer with a thrilling and diverse portfolio.

“We are delighted to announce that 70seven is expanding its range of services to include a thoughtfully selected artist management division. As the first member of this exciting new team, we are extremely excited to welcome talented artist Steve Marais.

Steve is a photographer based in Berlin and Düsseldorf who is known for his energetic visual style. He is a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community who uses his camera to celebrate the beauty of all bodies, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, age, shape or size. Steve is curious about the different realities that people face, and he invites them to collaborate with him in making new experiences together. He actively embraces inclusion and variety in his work, and sheds a fresh and authentic light on the everyday.

Steve has a talent for capturing people in a way that is both intimate and empowering. His personal work has been featured in numerous publications, for which he has been acclaimed for his ability to get close to his subjects and bring out a raw sensuality. His love for photography developed as a young boy in South Africa, where he used an old compact camera to snap photos of his family and environment. He soon became fascinated by human expression in different situations and settings.

Having traveled extensively the world over, Steve has documented the lives and stories of people from various backgrounds and walks of life – from burlesque artists in Cape Town to refugees in Greece. He believes that photography can be a powerful tool for social change and awareness.”

Yummyzine # 2 The Three of Us What happens when three friends go on a wild adventure in the woods? That's what I wanted to explore in this extended cover story for Yummy Magazine. These three buddies share a love for nature and for each other, and they were not afraid to express it in front of the camera. The shoot took place in and around a semi-abandoned old holiday resort, leaving behind a mysteriously rustic setting for the boys to explore. They hiked through the forest, climbed on roofs, rode motorbikes and jumped in the pool, all while wearing nothing but sunscreen. They laughed, played, and cuddled, showing off their fit bodies and their genuine bond. My aim was to capture their spontaneous and playful moments, creating a stunning visual story that celebrates friendship and freedom. The images are vibrant and lively, just like the boys themselves.

Think gen-z pixie shaman in a red string. As we delved deeper into the art of her energy work, I curiously asked how she found me. She simply answered, "the law of attraction, darling". The resulting images are collaborative and serve as a powerful representation of her practice.

Time spent with a cat is never wasted. This is a story of two men developing an unlikely friendship because of one unassuming feline adventurer who freely traverses across the Alps. It is said that cats choose us, we don't own them. Karl Schneider (94) from Linthal, Switzerland would certainly agree. One day several years ago, a black and white house cat showed up unannounced on Karl's doorstep and made itself at home. He had no clue where it came from or to whom it belonged to. When winter came, the cat disappeared. Karl was heartbroken. After searching high and low, he eventually found the cat on a farm in the valley. And ever since then the cat chooses to reside on the farm in winter, and in the village with Karl in the warmer months. Along the way, Karl and farmer Fridli have grown close, despite their 40-year age difference. When the cat leaves, Karl's emotional state suffers. But as soon as the weather improves, so does Karl's mood.

Freeform: The Creative Independence of Stuart Dodds

A young soul with a vision and a charm. A space of creation and reflection in a vibrant city. A bond of curiosity and admiration between us. Not only is 28 year old Stuart Dodds a talented artist and a deep thinker, he's also easy on the eye and an all-round lovely human. I spent a day with him at his studio in Cape Town where we got to know each other a little better. His work is heavily influenced by his belief in the importance of independence and the power of unity. Shapes transcend the individual and embraces interconnectedness, creating a harmonious bridge across differences. For Stuart, art is not just about self-expression, but also about the collective human experience.
