ELEMENTS PRODUCTION SERVICES produces the ASHISH S/S ‘23 campaign for London-based designer Ashish Gupta in India
The ASHISH Spring/Summer 2023 collection has once again drawn its inspiration from the Indian heritage of its designer and founder Ashish Gupta. It was produced by ELEMENTS – and for the very first time in India. The campaign explores Indian cultural heritage and was photographed by Ashish Shah in a charming house built during colonial times.
The S/S ‘23 collection is marked by a fusion of traditional Indian styles with contemporary silhouettes and once again features the signature sequin aesthetic of the brand, underscored by accessories such as garlands and bindis.
Paying tribute to 1980s Masala films and Indian film magazines, the latest collection is littered with references to iconic Indian cinema, and particularly, the tulip scene from Yash Chopra’s 1981 classic ‘Silsila’. The collection also draws on designer Ashish Gupta’s own upbringing, bringing back memories of velour bedspreads, used preferably by his family in the 1970s.
Indian fashion designer Ashish Gupta is considered a rising star of London’s fashion scene. He has been named one of the top creators of the new generation by the British Fashion Week. He designs in London and produces mainly in India, where his complex hand embroidery is done, and sells – up until now – in London and Toronto.
