SEPIA - the Agency for Illustration presents 'THE ANT COLLECTIVE' – the development and organization of an ant colony in captivating 3D images by Armin SCHIEB c/o SEPIA, appearing as an illustrated book at Kosmos Publishing
New at GoSee is illustrator representation SEPIA. In the summer of 2012, Anja Laame and a handful of illustrators founded the agency in Hamburg. Part of the team from the very beginning were Frederik Jurk, Armin Schieb and her husband André Laame. Initially focused only on magazines, the agency quickly grew to include advertising and books. The agency Sepia has meanwhile moved its base to Münster and now represents twelve international illustrators whose work is regularly awarded. Good illustrations are what make brands unique and stand out from the competition. SEPIA’s maxim is to help strengthen messages visually.
“In contrast to photography, illustration begins with a white surface. I am delighted how illustration is able to fill a blank sheet with life, and tells a story about the person who created it. I love to find and recommend the right artist for a great result. That’s fun. Because, then I know : It’s going to be good,” says owner Anja Laame, who previously worked as photo editor for many years.
Last year, THE ANT COLLECTIVE was published by Kosmos Publishing. In this illustrated book, Armin SCHIEB c/o SEPIA explains the development and organization of a wood ant colony with digital 3D illustrations. In the book, he gives readers a glimpse as close up as if they were ants themselves. It has already won various design awards.
“125 pages and still no sign of boredom,” is Karsten Möbius' opinion on the book. “It’s as if the ants were directly in front of you,” says the MDR WISSEN editor and describes in his recommendation, how 3D graphics are leading to a new perception of a fascinating species.
Armin’s works can be seen in magazines and newspapers such as ADAC Motorwelt, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, GEO kompakt, Harvard Business Manager, New Scientist, Süddeutsche Zeitung, Stern, SZ Langstrecke, and DIE ZEIT. He also designs book covers.

'Four Galaxies of Urine Diagnostics' – hyper-realistic 3D illustrations of proteins, bacteria and blood cells as a fascinating panorama by Armin SCHIEB c/o SEPIA for SYSMEX
Human urine contains an entire universe of proteins, bacteria, blood cells, and tissue cells. Armin SCHIEB c/o SEPIA is a 3D illustrator from Hamburg. He works with the program Cinema 4D and illustrated a panorama illustration for SYSMEX, the manufacturer of laboratory analysis devices. This is shown in the 'Four Galaxies of Urine Diagnostics' and appeared in the company magazine.
Armin Schieb is a specialist for 3D and infographics. He studied Book Design and Informative Illustration at HAW Hamburg with a great interest in science, technology and fantastic worlds. He enjoys combining 3D renderings with vector graphics to make complex causal relationships clearer.

For the magazine PORSCHE ENGINEERING, 3D illustrator Armin SCHIEB c/o SEPIA visualized digital networks. To do so, he illustrated a model of the electric Porsche Taycan. Armin lives in Hamburg & Bremen, and is specialized in realistic 3D illustration, infographics and simulations.
From Stephen King to Obama or even Trump for SZ – portrait illustrations by André LAAME c/o SEPIA
André LAAME c/o SEPIA won the Elysée Award in the category Painting in 2009 and has since illustrated for renowned publishing companies such as Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Süddeutsche Zeitung or Swiss Du magazine. Die Zeit published his illustrative commentary in 2015 about the attack on Charlie Hebdo. André's topics are about people, relationships and portraits. He uses painting, illustration and digital tools, usually working with a reduced palette of colors. The portrait of Stephen King is his newest work and was created for 'Billy Summers' – the big new novel about truth and fiction by the successful author.
“In my work, I look for images which are able to describe moods and evoke emotions. The style of which is a very important means of expression. I am, therefore, not limited to only one particular style of illustrating, but instead, the topic leads me in the right direction for my research and experimentation until I have found the best interpretation. I often use close-up views with a small range of selected colors. As a painting, a drawing or a 3D graphic. I am particularly interested in social and cultural topics,” says André Laame.
André Laame studied at the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg under Prof. Hartmut Gudenau. Two years later, he deepened his knowledge of painting by attending a Master's degree course under Prof. Christian Hahn. He is a founding member of SEPIA, the agency for illustration.

Francesco Bongiorni c/o SEPIA illustrated landscapes for the magazine of Fédération Bancaire Française. We also present you his two works for 'Sporting Events in Trentino' plus landscapes for the outdoor festival Slow Travel Fest. Ad motifs with an Alpine landscape were also designed by him for Ambrosia Val Venosta (Vinschgau Valley, South Tyrol).
Francesco Bongiorni comes from Milan and works as an illustrator in Madrid, mainly in the area of advertising and for magazines. He is skilled in concisely illustrating complex causal relationships, and loves to illustrate vast landscapes, mountains and forests.
His work has been awarded multiple times, among others, by American Illustration and the Society of Illustrators (NY). Anton HALLMANN c/o SEPIA illustrated types of investors for the magazine FINANZTEST: Just guess who is currently enjoying a sabbatical? And who is the financial expert? And who is thinking about the dreams of the children?
We also present you a glimpse at the portfolio of Anton who lives in Stockholm with his wife. With his digital collages, Anton Hallmann tells little stories. The applications for his images are as diverse as his clients: for companies from the industry, for publishing houses and agencies, he designs eye-catchers, openers, infographics, book covers and small animations for apps. He draws inspiration from the silhouette artworks he finds in classic literature.
