Now Now Gallery is an online gallery dedicated to exceptional photography. It offers limited editions from talented photographers and curates a carefully selected collection, including outtakes from reportage, fashion shoots for renowned magazines, freelance work, and art photography. Each image is a limited edition, signed by the artist. If you are still looking for the perfect Christmas gift, Now Now Gallery offers exclusive artworks that not only appeal to collectors but also make unique gifts. In collaboration with CLX Europe, each image is printed on Hahnemühle Fine Art Paper Pearl 285 g/m². With over 50 years of experience, CLX guarantees the highest print quality and extraordinary color accuracy.
The online gallery is backed by three renowned creatives. Ena Aichinger has worked as a Creative and Art Producer for magazines and agencies in Hamburg and New York, and now lives in Munich. She led major photo productions for GQ, oversees the visual language of THE GAME’s BMW Editorial Team, and was the freelance creative producer for the current BMW ART CAR. She loves photojournalism as a medium of communication and quirky photo books.
Alexis Zurflüh has been the artistic director of numerous projects. He designs websites, corporate identities, and magazines (including GQ, NZZ, and SZ Magazine). Over the years, he has built an extensive network across Europe and has long been collecting photography.
Benedikt Sarreiter is a co-founder of the agency Nansen & Piccard. He was Editor-at-Large at INTERVIEW and editor-in-chief at DU. Although he doesn’t take photos himself, he has a deep appreciation for great photography.
Can any photographer apply to be part of your curated collection? What are the criteria a photo must meet to be included? Ena: Photographers are welcome to apply, as long as they feel their aesthetic aligns with Now Now’s visual style. Our visual language is modern, authentic, and narrative, which is why we have many editorial photographers in our portfolio. We typically don’t feature images that are too obviously retouched or digitally altered—unless they are concept art. We don’t make a distinction between up-and-coming talent and established artists, but we are looking for specific genres within commercial or broadly accessible aspects: food photography, landscape and cityscapes, animals, architecture, or images that capture a certain vibe or humor.
Photography has changed a lot in recent years—how does Now Now Gallery respond to these developments? Ena: We started Now Now because we know many photographers who shoot great images for assignments or privately, but those images often end up unseen in archives or fleetingly on Instagram. Now, they have the opportunity to offer individual, special images as high-quality art prints, so these images can find a second home on walls. Now Now Gallery is dedicated to selecting the best images from the flood of pictures, telling a story, and creating an art experience with exclusive editions, high-quality paper, and framing for a broad income range.
How do you see the future of photography as an art form, especially with the influence of digital media and social networks? Ena: High-quality photography will always hold value as an art form, partly because it is accessible. To counter the current over-saturation of images, photographers can experiment with materiality and the sculptural aspects of photography, or create images that establish a dynamic between the story in the photo and the audience. The combination of photography with other art forms, whether paintings or digital art, and avoiding silo thinking can lead to new and exciting works of art. I also believe that it is no coincidence that many young photographers are increasingly experimenting with analog photography and reconnecting with the technical and craft aspects of the medium. Analog photos give the image more texture, naturalness, and character, and often evoke nostalgic feelings in the viewer.
