Camille Cottin's path to film may have been predetermined, but it was not straightforward, let alone easy. Born in Paris as the daughter of artist Gilles Cottin (* 1946; † 2022), she lived with her mother and stepfather in England from the age of 12, where both owned a theater café. After studying in Paris and a stint as a secondary school teacher, she became known to a wider audience through her role in the series Connasse, which aired on Canal + in 2013.
Camilla ARMBRUST c/o SHOTVIEW A.M. photographed actress Camille Cottin for the cover of MARIE CLAIRE France. Fashion Chief Editor Jeanne Le Bault and AD Adrien Pelletier from the magazine were responsible for the creative execution.
You can currently see her as the queen and leader of the Ones, the kingdom of good, in the movie 'The Empire', a science fiction film by Bruno Dumont. The film premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival in February 2024. It was released in French cinemas a week later. The theatrical release in the rest of Europe was November 2024.
