Robert ASCROFT c/o SEVERIN WENDELER portrayed Cate Blanchett for the Emmys and the Television Academy. At the moment, the celebrated actress is appearing in the role of a journalist in the US/UK miniseries ‘Disclaimer’, created by director and writer Alfonso Cuarón. The series made its world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival in late August 2024.
“My latest series of photographs, shot in London a few months ago with Cate Blanchett, embodies the defining elements of my work. The images feature Hitchcock-inspired cinematic beauty lighting, capturing Cate in character rather than in typical promotional poses. Together we walked through the gritty locations in South London, discussing what I had envisioned and reviewing test shots. Cate immediately understood the direction – bringing a visual depth, mystery, and cinematic narrative to each shot. This shoot coincided with the launch of ‘Disclaimer’ (Apple TV+), directed by one of my all-time favorite filmmakers, Alfonso Cuarón. This project would not have been possible without the incredible creative team of editors, stylists, lighting designers, and production crew,” Robert ASCROFT describes the shoot.
