Stay true to yourself. – Wu Tang Clan frontman RZA teamed up with Scottish whisky company Ballantine’s to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the group’s debut album. The ride took RZA to Scotland, the birthplace of whisky – and he was captured for the spot presented here.
“We have a long-term relationship with RZA, and he is closely aligned with the company’s brand values. Our partnership is more than just putting a name with a brand, and during his trip to the distillery, he met the whisky making team, and saw how it was made and how it was crafted.” Ballantine’s.
It was directed by Alex Motlhabane, and DOP was Pieter Snyman. The agency responsible was Highsnobiety with Creative Director Janak Jani.
And LS PRODUCTIONS contributed the unmistakable Scottish landscapes, where the worlds of music, whisky and design all come together for an unforgettable experience in the name of authenticity and originality.
RZA is not only a musician, he is also one of the most famous figures in the hip hop business world. He’s the mastermind behind the entire Wu Tang Clan idea and also the founder of the two record companies Wu Tang Records and Razor Sharp Records. As the main producer of the Wu-Tang Clan, almost all tracks were written by RZA, and he serves as Executive Producer as well.
