Born in the German city of Bonn, Hannah Emde hosts the Terra X series ‘Fascinating Earth’ – which presents various regions of the world while introducing different cultures. A veterinarian by profession, she has dedicated her life to wildlife conservation, working across the globe to preserve the habitats of endangered species and protect animals from extinction.
In the beginning a program for documentaries themed upon remote travel destinations, Terra X has evolved over the years. Since the 1980s, the program has been using CGI effects. Actors have reenacted historical events since the 1990s, and Terra X was among the first to offer content in HD. Often considered a pioneer of German public television for such innovations, Terra X is categorized by ZDF in the genre of hi-gloss documentaries.
