German-Austrian activist and publisher Marlene Engelhorn is a co-founder of Tax Me Now, an initiative for tax justice, and advocates for social justice, the reformation of tax policies as well as more equitable inheritance taxes.

Marlene Engelhorn wants to use her wealth to make the world a fairer place. Which is why she has given € 25 million to a citizen council named the Good Council to redistribute among various organizations and clubs.
Marlene Engelhorn is a descendant of Friedrich Engelhorn (1821–1902), the founder of the multinational chemical company BASF. Her grandmother was Traudl Engelhorn-Vechiatto, who married in Peter Engelhorn 1955, the great-grandson of Friedrich Engelhorn and a co-shareholder of the Boehringer Mannheim Group.
Shares of Hoffmann-La Roche were sold in 1997 for USD 11 billion. The transaction was, however, tax free. This was possible because of a holding in the Bermudas founded by Curt Engelhorn, the former CEO.
Her grandmother’s wealth was most recently estimated to be more than USD 4.2 billion, of which Engelhorn has inherited an eight-figure sum.
