New at BIRD PRODUCTION is Milan-based photographer Teresa CIOCIA – whom you just can’t help but take into your heart upon seeing her marvelously provocative visual language. To kick things off, we present you her editorial with Moffy Gathorne Hardy for the first issue of STUDIO XYZ Magazine.
BIRD PRODUCTION : “Teresa Ciocia is a photographer born and raised in Puglia in 1993, currently based in Milan. Since she was a child, she developed a creative sensibility, playing with fabrics, colors, and nature. At the age of seven, she developed an interest in fashion by watching fashion shows on TV.
After completing her classical studies and graduating with a degree in Fine Arts, she moved to Berlin and later to Milan to pursue a Master’s degree in Photography. Teresa loves to emphasize the shapes of female bodies, playing with light and shadows to create an enigmatic and sensual atmosphere. For her, photography is a means of combining art and fashion with emotional reality.”
STXDYOZ is a fresh magazine project brought to life by Götz Offergeld and his team. The creative is known for his work for magazines such as Numéro Berlin, Fräulein and Intersection. With STXDYOZ (pronounced Studio XYZ), the team is dedicated especially to Italian fashion, luxury, art and the creative scene. The new mag is aimed at shifting and expanding the focus, away from established and at times entrenched clichés of Italian fashion, art and culture. XYZ strives to change perspectives and “get us to see Italy in a new, refreshing way and shape the future with positivity.”
The magazine sees itself as a counterbalance to ephemeral content and is more elaborately designed accordingly. Readers who “collect magazines, celebrate beauty and want to stand at the forefront of a movement,” make up the corresponding target group. The magazine is published twice a year both in Italian and in English. Publisher and Editor-in-Chief is Götz Offergeld, and creative direction was in the hands of Bureau Borsche and OOR Studio, with art direction by Mirko Borsche.
