We are extremely delighted to welcome KARINA ASMUS here on GoSee. Since 2011, this superwoman has been working as a freelance hair & makeup artist. Her styles are marked by a very own signature look, always striking a balance between modern and natural beauty. She works for both beauty and fashion clients, but is also booked for commercials and in the area of corporate for classic looks.
Why do you have the best job you could ever imagine? “Because I get to work with people. Makeup and hairstyling are my great passion – underscoring the individual beauty of people, being creative, the variety that’s part of the job… well, and getting to meet and work with such great people are what makes me happy.”
And what is your approach? “First, I create a beautiful basic skin and hair look, then I dot the i’s. I love making skin glow and turning it into a highlight by placing precise accents with different products. At the moment, for example, I just love the healthy radiance of the glowy skin look paired with beach hair.”
How do you coordinate your looks with the client and photographer/director? “First of all, I research clients to find out what they stand for. I give it some thought and then ask directly what the client has in mind. I talk about it with the stylist and make suggestions with a mood board. For me, photo and film shoots are always teamwork.”
