“After World War II, tens of thousands of homeless Jews fled anti-Semitism from across Europe. Their destination: Palestine. One route took them on foot across the Alps. Each year, the route is retraced on a memorial hike.”
Roderick AICHINGER c/o KRISTINA KORB was responsible for photographing for the article by Levin Kubeth, which was published in August 2024. Levin is not only the author – he also hiked the entire, very challenging route through the Alps. Levin is a passionate journalist whose work deals intensively with politics, protest movements, and democratic participation.
Levin Kubeth, born in Berlin in 1998, was brought up in Brandenburg and Bavaria. He studied political science as well as media and communication studies at the University of Mannheim. Roderick trained at the Henri Nannen School in Hamburg, with stints at the Sächsische Zeitung, DER SPIEGEL, Stern, and Die Zeit. Since October 2023, he has been an editor in the Germany/Panorama department at DER SPIEGEL
