Born in Milan, Mario Milana moved to New York City after graduating from the European Institute of Design, where he worked for Karim Rashid for eight years. In 2014, he founded his own studio of the same name, based in New York and Milan.
Andy MASSACCESI c/o BIRD PRODUCTION photographed architect Mario Milana in ARKET Menswear 24. The location of the shoot was Mario’s Milan apartment, which is part living space and creative studio.
Mario’s furniture collections are all handcrafted by skilled Milanese craftsmen who weld the steel and iron structures by hand. The leather upholstery is handsewn by a family of artisans. Craftsmanship, functionality, and simplicity are the cornerstones of Mario Milana’s exclusive furniture.
Arket is the sustainable fashion label of the H&M family. Founded in 2017, it is meanwhile available in stores worldwide.
