With the book C.P. Company 971 – 021. An Informal History of Italian Sportswear, the Italian brand is celebrating its 50th anniversary, curated by Lodovico Pignatti Morano with photographs by Neil Bedford.
“Neil has spent the last year, during the most challenging times of our lives, photographing 50 people in multiple countries, including a remote shoot in Japan, for C.P. Company’s 50th anniversary book, an informal history of Italian sportswear. Hidden beneath the coats are Noel Gallagher, Nigel Cabourn, Jonathan Tegbeu, Angela Barald, and Bez, to name a few of the celebrities featured.”
The success story began in 1971, when young graphic designer Massimo Osti created his own T-shirt label. Through innovative manufacturing processes, he began giving his collections a lived-in look, dressing them in natural hues combined with a focus on functionality inspired by classic military outfits. Now, 50 years later, C.P. Company is celebrating this history with a commemorative book, available at C.P. Company and IDEA BOOKS as well as in all flagship stores of C.P. Company in Milan, Amsterdam, London, Seoul and Tokyo.
Neil Bedford likes to leave very little to chance. He plans his shoots down to the last detail and is meticulous in conducting research and gathering reference material.
