The ASVOFF 5 (=A Shaded View on Fashion Film) fashion film festival by Diane Pernet took place at Centre Pompidou in Paris from 9 -11. November. Stuttgart based photographer Monica MENEZ won the ‘Best Art Director’ award for ‘Hors d‘oeuvre’. Model Albe Hamiti starred in the film and Atelier Josche came up with the vintage inspired set design. Paul Klinar was director of photography; the fashion film was produced in collaboration with fashion label Goldknopf Couture.
Guests included: Daphne Guiness, Claude Montana and Rossi di Palma. The after party took place at Club Silencio (owned by David Lynch). The next stop for the festival is Tokyo. Afterwards they’re off to Saint Petersburg, Mexico, Milan and New York.
Eight prizes were presented to a total of 82 film entries competing for an award. The festival programme also included screenings of over 101 films (7 of those non-competitive) and 10 documentaries. While the events on the weekend were open to the public, the opening was reserved for an elite circle – with just 150 seats.
