For German Football Association DFB and on commission for the agency JvM Sports, Christopher KOCH c/o DOUBLE T PHOTOGRAPHERS photographed the ‘Referee’ campaign presented here on GoSee. It was realized in the Altona 93 stadium in the soccer fanatic city of Hamburg.
German Football Association e. V. (DFB) is the umbrella organization of 27 member associations in the Federal Republic of Germany, which are made up in turn of almost 24,500 soccer teams. The nonprofit organization is headquartered in Frankfurt am Main. With more than seven million members in affiliated clubs, the DFB is the largest specialist sport federation in the world.
The reason for the latest campaign : Too many soccer referees are retiring, which means that new referees need to be recruited. And once recruited, need to be held onto.
The DFB writes about the referee job : “Making decisions in split seconds, recognizing and assessing situations at lightning speed, leadership qualities and stress resistance. All in a day’s work for referees in Germany. From the Bambinis to the Seniors, from the local leagues to Bundesliga – we can’t do it without our referees.
Each year, millions of soccer games are played in Germany. And every game needs someone to blow the whistle at beginning and end, someone to enforce the rules: the referee. They make it possible for active players to play soccer in organized leagues. Germany’s refereeing system is constantly undergoing transition so that it can continue to fulfill its responsibilities and keep up with modern times in pursuit of its goal. To this end, the DFB has undergone far-reaching structural reform in the area of refereeing.
The goal is the best possible individual promotion and support of the almost 600 referees in the areas of club level (Women’s Bundesliga, 2nd Women’s Bundesliga, as well as the Junior Bundesliga) and elite (Bundesliga, 2nd Bundesliga and 3rd League) within the DFB.”
The campaign was styled by Pinny Daniel, with H&M by Claudia Wegener Bracht.
