Still life virtuoso Christoffer Dalkarls c/o AGENT MOLLY & CO realized the new ‘Season 3 Repurposed’ collection and staged new glittery sneakers.
Continuing its series of capsule collections crafted from leftover fabrics, Acne Studios’ third drop is a psychedelic foray into the hiking world : technical and utilitarian garments, but with a tie-dye twist. Using nylon fabrics from previous seasons alongside a tie-dye process with environmentally certified dyes (approved by the Global Organic Textile Standard), the result is a new kind of camouflage with outdoor exploration in mind.
The pieces in this collection are genderless and multi-seasonal, with three types of nylon fabrics creatively transformed and repurposed : a light nylon in bright pink or coral red, a heavier, more structured nylon in almond brown, and a cotton-blend ripstop in khaki green or almond brown. Providing a full adventure set for the hiker, there is outerwear such as a long- or short-hooded jacket, a short-sleeved trek shirt, trousers, shorts, a hat that protects the neck, a backpack, and socks. There are also graphic symbols printed on some of the pieces, playing on the orienteering theme.
For each season of the series, the question is asked : What can be done with these specific excess materials? Creative expression is brought about by constraints, and each capsule collection has a unique perspective. The collection will be available in Acne Studios stores, on acnestudios.com and exclusively on MrPorter.com.
