‘Seeing tea differently - since 1879’ - STUDIO DIRK WEYER photographs the recruitment campaign for tea company HÄLSSEN & LYON

Finding new qualified personnel is just as difficult in the tea business. HÄLSSEN & LYON, one of the most renowned tea companies in the world, is stepping up to the challenge with an unusual recruitment campaign. What they’re looking for are employees with a special sense for the extraordinary versatility of tea. The campaign was developed by the Hamburg-based agency Häppy.

The HR motifs photographed by DIRK WEYER for the employer brand HÄLSSEN & LYON were created with a nod to the classic eye exam conducted by an optician or eye doctor. Alongside a headline reminiscent of a visual acuity test with the Snellen eye chart, we also see colored tea circles containing numbers of a slightly different color below, in a reference to the Ishihara test for red-green color deficiency. The numbers depicted show 1879, the founding year of Hälssen & Lyon.

The question “Do you see the difference?” not only directs attention to the tea visual and the actual job offer, it also leads to an unconventional description of the types of tea presented. Precisely how the employees-to-be of H&L would ideally see it too – while, others, perhaps not quite so well. These motifs are to be used both at job fairs and online, and are an integral part of the HR marketing campaign.
