DIRK WEYER photographs precious stones for GROH + RIPP, wholesale jeweler, gemstone cutter and manufacturer in Idar-Oberstein

In the master workshops of Groh + Ripp, precious treasures of nature are transformed into works of art. Created from coarse pieces of rock through dedicated work are luminous gemstones which unfold their full beauty. DIRK WEYER photographed a few of them for the jewelry wholesaler from Idar-Oberstein. Set styling was taken care of by Lea Beyl from Berlin, with post production by Dirk Weyer.

'The first step in the process is always taking a walk to one of the numerous uncut stone cellars of the company – a storage area which resembles a treasure chamber bursting at the seams. Over the course of several generations, stones have accumulated here from all around the world, each unique in its own way. Entering one of these storage rooms, the silver shelves reveal true treasures: lapis, various kinds of jade, obsidian, quartz, malachite and numerous other materials can be found here.....' More is available via GROH + RIP, and by Dirk on GoSee and dirkweyer.com.
