Fashion and celebrity specialist ESTHER HAASE photographed the MADAME FIGARO cover story with actress Carey Mulligan, clad in the Dior S/S ‘21 Cruise collection. Also on the team was AD William Stoddart, Fashion Editor Agnes Poulle, as well as Emma White Turle for make-up and hairstylist Halley Brisker.
“I felt so honored and happy when I was asked by Madame Figaro to shoot Dior’s Spring/Summer 2021 collection with one of the most wonderful actresses of our time. I adored her so much when she played Daisy in one of my favorite movies ‘The Great Gatsby’ alongside Leonardo DiCaprio. It was so magical to experience her multifaceted expressions through the lens of my camera, absolutely fascinating. Can’t wait to see her in her new movie ‘Promising Young Woman’. Thanks so much to the whole team!”
Carey Mulligan played in the British drama ‘Suffragette’, which portrays the beginnings of the women’s liberation movement in the UK and also made an appearance alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in ‘The Great Gatsby’, the 3D literary adaptation of the novel by Francis Scott Fitzgerald. She is now appearing next to Ralph Fiennes in the drama entitled ‘The Dig’, and can be seen in the upcoming thriller ‘Promising Young Woman’.
The Dior S/S ‘21 Cruise collection celebrates the traditional art of Apulia. From the fairy-tale aesthetic of the luminary, expressed in colorful patterns, to wild flowers by artist Pietro Ruffo or even finest accessories, bags and shoes made of perforated or crafted leather, the fashions designed by Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri are an ode to the nature and landscapes of southern Italy.

About ESTHER HAASE
Born 1966 in Bremen, Germany.
As the daughter of an artist and a photography and design professor, Esther grew up surrounded by the world of photography.
After professional training in modern dance Esther spent two years on-stage before studying graphic design with a focus on photography.
Since 1993 she has been dancing around the world with her camera and head full of creative visions. International commercial and editorial clients, exhibitions and published books including ‘Sexy Book’ and ‘Short Stories’ have all contributed to her growing success.
Esther lives in Hamburg and London with her two children.
