Back to basics – transportation, people & landscape photographer Jonathan SCHULE used 4x5-inch sheet film for his personal project ‘Königssee’. He spent almost a week in Berchtesgaden National Park surrounded by Watzmann and Königssee. Thanks to several vacations, hikes and outings there, Jonathan knows the area like the back of his hand, enabling him to shoot in places far off the beaten track of tourist routes.
Equipped with his Sinar large format camera and umpteen film cassettes, he set out to photograph a series all about Königssee. If you want to explore the impressive natural backdrop surrounding the most famous mountain lake in Bavaria, you have to do so by boat. Discover new perspectives of old favorites, a bird’s eye view of the impressive lake from the Jenner with the Watzmann in the background, not to mention a view of the Malerwinkel directly from the boot along with the St. Bartholomew pilgrimage church. Digital post production of the scan was in the hands of Harvest Digital Agriculture. The look & feel came from Nicola Cafantaris. We have the wonderful project here on GoSee, plus further news on his GoSee profile and his website.
