The song ‘Kaleidoskop’ by Meral Al-Mer is themed upon a feeling we all know : the desire for self-fulfillment. The hope it gives us to give ourselves and others chances is touching. It is about dreams both big and small, and the ways to fulfill them… The story of the song is told by four main characters, and finally by singer Meral. There is the dancer preparing for her performance, the transgender dealing with his gender identity, the actress working in a ice cream parlor while dreaming of a Hollywood career, and the child daring to take that giant leap into the pool from the diving platform.

NEW at GoSee is photographer and director KATY OTTO. The Berlin native is delighted to present you her music video for German musician, journalist and author Meral Al-Mer.

Since 2004, Katy Otto has been working as a freelance photographer in Berlin, and as of recently, also as a successful director. She sees herself mainly as a portraitist : “My first portraits were created in black & white using analogue equipment before I started working as a professional photographer. I still benefit to this day from the initial analogue work I did, particularly when it comes to the details and precision of my photography. Portraiture is still strongly visible throughout my work for reportages or advertising photos.” Her signature style always flows to a certain extent into the requirements of her clients : “Clear specifications are combined with spontaneity and playful creative freedom. Narration is above all part of the artistic value of my photos, whether in productions, in photo series or even in film.”

In 2010, the singer with Syrian roots, Meral Al-Mer, became known to a broader audience in Germany through X Factor, the worldwide popular music casting show with Till Brönner, Sarah Connor and George Glueck in the jury at the time.
