SALLYHATESWING photographed the new ‘Tranquillity’ campaign for MUSEARTA on commission for Cologne-based agency Benchmarked. Styling of the protagonists was taken care of by Shima Khazei, with make-up by Julia Watkins and hair by Julian Dobener.
With lots of attention to detail, MuseARTa produces finest quality socks and textiles for everyday adorned by pieces of art without trivializing the value of artwork or art per se. The coolest part: MuseARTa’s philosophy is dedicated to ensuring adequate wages along the entire production chain. This starts with the artists or museums but also extends to knitters on the sewing machines or even the sales personnel in the museum shop.
“Our products are the opposite of fast fashion. The designs and prints, just like the works of art they represent, are designed to last forever. That’s not all. Our assortment of unique pieces of art is continuously growing, enabling you to even start your own art collection,” according to MUSEARTA. “We strive to bring the world of art home to our customers and integrate art in their daily lives. Which is why we have also decided to manufacture socks for babies and kids – because it is never too early to inspire the love of art.”
Among our wide variety are socks with artwork by Diego Velázquez from the Prado Museum located in downtown Madrid, which is considered one of the worldwide best collections of European art from the 12th to the 20th century as well as the best collection of Spanish art.
