Imagerefinery : the KARLSBERG ice breaker - visualisation of the URPILS brand in an icy envelope; sketches and final artwork on GoSee
Imagerefinery visualised the relaunch of the URPILS brand for the KARLSBERG brewery. The advertising agency was HDW, Saarland, Germany. For the relaunch, the new bottle was gradually freed of its ice encasing. Users can free their own bottle from a virtual ice block online.
The technical challenges were on the one hand the realistic smashing of the ice block, which has to stay flexible until the final discovery of the actual shape – and on the other, a set up which allows changes right up to the deadline through short rendering times.
The modelling was kept entirely parametric and the polygon numbers kept as low as possible. The editing of the details was only carried out in the shading. The ice look was particularly important, which had to capture the desired haptic quality, but also keep the render times short.
