Eight years following the publication of Peter De Potter’s first book THE VANITY OF CERTAIN FLOWERS (sold out in four days!), and one month after the publication of the first issue of the fanzine PETER DE POTTER INDEX #1: STRAIGHT EDGE VARIATIONS (sold out in one week!), Visual Art Services presented the fifth book by Peter De Potter in July. What can we tell you – sold out. But we would still very much like to present you a preview of the sought-after issue here on GoSee. De Potter has been observing the development of visual culture since the beginning in social media.
RING LIGHT NEW TESTAMENT: NEW BOOK BY PETER DE POTTER
Visual Art Services: “The new book by Belgian artist Peter De Potter is about the performative body. With contemporary visual culture as a constant context to frame De Potter’s work, this volume contemplates and grasps the way the current generation represents itself on platforms like TikTok and Onlyfans. In the realm of socials, everyone is performing – and everyone is decidedly in on the act. The performance itself has turned into a complex yet universal...

‘Stone and Candle’ is a long-term photographic project examining the ancient monasteries of Armenia. The publication covers forty monastic structures, distributed over the entire country, and several in the disputed territory of Artsakh, with the majority dating from the 4th century to 13th century.
These monasteries, some of the earliest of the Christian world, were centers of education, where art and science flourished. They stand here as timeless monuments of faith, devoid of crowds, open to the winds, and silent.
In search of a spiritual dimension in monumental human constructions, photographer team Ted & Nune travel to remote places and conduct studies of humanity, architecture and industry. Since 2015, they have produced and exhibited several internationally recognized projects in Armenia, Russia, Japan and the US.
From the preface by Arà Zarian: “Stone and Candle, a photographic journey conceived by the couple Ted Andreasian and Nune Karamyan, is an ode to the Armenian landscape, Christian architectural creations, and to the magnificent churches that were skillfully carved...

We have a first glimpse of the new and very personal project by Maggie SHANNON c/o MAKING PICTURES for you, which was photographed in South Carolina and Georgia.
“The project started as a way to explore my family roots in the South, a place I’ve never visited before. My great-grandfather Wing Hamilton was a world-renowned horse dentist who grew up in Aiken, South Carolina. He was a civil rights activist and traveled across the US, Dubai, England and Japan to work on his client’s horses (including Queen Elizabeth’s horses).
His brother Thomas Hamilton, however, was the Grand Dragon for the KKK for Georgia and South Carolina, and was arrested by the FBI in one of their first cases against the terrorist group. I’m exploring these two brothers and the South as a way to look at the current political climate in the US.” Maggie Shannon, photographer.
