RAMP meets FERRARI'S Head of Design Flavio Manzoni in the legendary Ferrari Centro Stile
The ramp.space team met for a "car wash" with Flavio Manzoni in Ferrari's Centro Stile. While the chief designer lovingly runs a cloth over the body of the Ferrari Daytona SP3, a conversation ensues about dirty racing cars, pointless diffusers and the omnipresence of the legendary brand founder Enzo Ferrari in Maranello.
Since January 2010, Flavio Manzoni, a trained architect, has been Ferrari's chief designer and has overseen the development of numerous Ferrari models, including the LaFerrari.
The new Centro Stile design center, inaugurated in September 2018, is the place where the Ferrari cars of tomorrow are already taking shape today. It is located in Viale Enzo Ferrari, in the heart of the Ferrari factory, and brings together all of Maranello's design-related activities under one spectacular roof. Now the 100+ designers and automotive engineers, as well as the chassis model workshop, the tailor-made area and the ateliers are all together.
Under the direction of the Ferrari design team – led by design chief Flavio Manzoni – the architectural project was designed by Design International of London, under the direction of Davide Padoa, in collaboration with the Bologna-based engineering firm Planning.
