In light of recent events, we are delighted to present the November 2021 cover of CICERO once again by retro specialist Michael PLEESZ c/o ART ACT. Who would have thought that grain would play such an important role in our digital world? And that Mrs. Baerbock* would be – at least for the moment – the one who seems to be calling the shots and surpassing her male colleagues in terms of popularity?
The cover motif for the direction of the new German government coalition came in second place in the cover-of-the-month competition upon publication. We have a few jury statements for you on GoSee.NEWS:
Christian Anhut, Executive Creative Director at Saatchi & Saatchi: “Foreign policy as a re-plowed field. And our new federal government as a carpool trying to find a mutual direction. Good luck!”
Elmar Gerlach, Creative Director at Butter: “Wonderful retro illustration symbolizing the departure from a healthy but dusty world. Garnished with the title of SPD magazine ‘Vorwärts’, befitting of the SPD run government. My cover of the month.”
In the typical somewhat retro style of Michael c/o ART ACT, Michael Knepper also illustrated two labels for a brewery.
*Annalena Charlotte Alma Baerbock (* 15 December, 1980, in Hanover) is a German politician (Bündnis 90/Die Grünen). Since 2013, she has been a member of German Bundestag, and since 8 December, 2021, the first woman to become Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs.
