Here comes the sun. – The Berlin-based beverage company ODE is reinventing the aperitif. Support for which the start-up has now gotten from Cedric SOLTANI c/o NINA RAUTENBERG.

“The essences produced in the ODE/Lab in Berlin are the reason behind its special aromas. What makes ODE so special though, apart from the quality of the raw materials, is the specially developed process for extracting the essences. Every fruit, every wood and every botanical is taken at its individual sweet spot until the full flavor comes to the fore.” ODE.

You can drink ODE on the rocks, as a spritz with sparkling wine and/or soda, or more sophisticated, in a cocktail with gin. Alcohol content (ABV): 18.5% Vol. ODE combines German winemaker wine – developed together with top winegrower Nico Espenschied – with the best botanicals in the world.

Stefan Becker and Thorsten Konrad are the founders of ODE : “We wanted to know what the taste of fruit, herbs or wood is like in its original form. Over the past few years, we have extracted natural essences from raw materials, combined them and, after countless series of tests, created the perfect flavor architecture for innovative, natural aperitifs. ODE is our answer to too many artificial flavors in the wonderful world of aperitifs."

“Writing and cooking for me go together like breathing in and out.” The author Alexa Hennig von Lange cooks food that is vegan and healthy. When she is at home sitting at her desk, she sometimes likes to leave the characters in her novels be for a moment – so she can cook for herself and her family. While she is busy washing the vegetables, putting on water for the barley, and chopping the herbs, her stories are given a bit of space to further unfold. Once she returns to her computer, her mind is filled with thoughts of what’s to happen next in her novel.

After nearly thirty years of dieting, the author has found joy not only in cooking for others, but also in eating again herself. The key to it is eating vegan. She dug out her mother’s old recipes, reinterpreted them and cooked her way back to the days of her childhood – a time when she had still felt good about her body.

With her vegan cookbook, she would like to take us back to what was once so natural: embracing locally sourced products, cooking according to season, and seeing food as something beautiful and healing. She presents a modern take on vegan regional cuisine that not only tastes amazing – it’s eco-friendly too and good for the whole family.
