Simon Gerlinger is a Berlin based photographer. He specialises in portraiture and storytelling-driven projects. Taking a sensitive approach, he creates powerful, intimate portraits and reportage for magazines, newspapers, and commercial clients. In addition to still photography, he creates moving portraits and short documentaries.

He graduated from the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Dortmund and also studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts (KASK) in Ghent and the Danish School of Media and Journalism (DMJX) in Aarhus.

In his personal work, he explores themes such as identity, youth, love and social dynamics, always seeking the right visual language for each story. In 2024, he became the first photographer-in-residence at ZEIT ONLINE, responsible for developing visual essays and experimenting with new forms of visual journalism. He is a member of Freelens, VG Bild-Kunst and Fotobus Society e.V.

Amelie Sachs is a documentary photographer and visual editor based between Munich and Cairo. She studied Visual Journalism and Documentary Photography in Hanover (Germany) and Aarhus (Denmark). Alongside her editorial work, she dedicates herself to long-term projects that deconstruct conventional narratives and shed light on hidden topics.

Curiosity is the driving force behind her work. For her, photography is a means of unexpected encounters and a way to unveil intimate realities. Working at the intersection of anthropology, fine art, and documentary photography, she develops in-depth, research-driven projects that shed light on subjects such as female health, spirituality, and family structures.

A collaborative approach lies at the heart of her practice. By engaging her subjects in the creative process, she questions power dynamics within photography, creating space for layered and empowering narratives. In her work, she breaks with the tradition of linear storytelling by blurring the line between fiction and reality to reveal new perspectives.

Merging documentary and conceptual approaches, her work functions both as an act of depiction and reflection—on social structures, on her own role as a visual storyteller, and on the boundaries of the medium itself.

Pedro Nóbrega breathes the earth; he is a man of wide and deep roots. Such earthly stability provides him with the objectivity, perspective and confidence, which are essential to his way of doing. He is a restless man. He lives fast and sets very high standards when it comes to carrying out his work. We often see him experiment with materials, defying the laws of physics, of light and, quite often, the patience of the common man, actually. He is bold in looking for "that particular effect", the one that no one has ever tried, the one that, experience tells him, will catapult the outcome straight to another level. He has this innate ability to experiment, almost like a lab "maestro", combining unthinkable chemistry and unexpected physics.

All his knowledge is supported by a structure that he knew well how to prepare, how to care for, how to grow. Rather than just one man, Pedro Nóbrega is synonymous with a team of professionals capable of dealing with any challenge related to analog or digital photographic composition. Pedro has always been very attentive to the market and we would be lying if we told a never ending story about the team that stands behind him. Knowledgeable of the conditions of the advertising market in Portugal, Pedro’s aim was always to gather the best professionals and this means having a high profile asset portfolio for the various procedures to be undertaken. He believes that highly specialised freelance teams are able to show more objective and passionate results, while bringing a huge cost/benefit advantage to the end customer.

But above all, he believes that this level of commitment is only achieved by building very serious, close and recurrent relationships with each one of the players in the work process. In terms of structure, Pedro has rather enviable conditions and this is said with no illusion whatsoever. PEDRO NÓBREGA - Image Makers, is a creative studio specialised in digital photographic production. Supported by an extensive background in advertising photography and digital manipulation, we stand for collaborative work and we assume ourselves as the "go to" partner for the accomplishment of complex photographic work. Our practice entails a well-oiled process as a facilitator principle to creative teams, from the initial draft idea to the completed postproduction in the form of a campaign. We provide a 2D/3D transverse process, which comprises concept and creativity, pre-production, production and post-production. Our goal is to transform creative thinking into visual reality.

The process we put into practice is intensely experimental. This does not mean that we behave erratically, experimenting each and everything until it works. Over time, we have been working our method towards this existence; by experimenting we get the unexpected and from the unexpected we get innovation, surprise. We have made experimentation our experienced standard with which we conduct our work, opening doors to unforeseen results.Is it not the best advertising the one that brings about all that is unusual, atypical, rare?

This is the driving force of our process: to achieve rarity. For that reason, there is more to being skilful than just the exact moment the "articulated extension" at the end of the hand (aka "finger") presses the shutter. Let us go back a little and retrieve the remaining fingers and let us build on the skilled hand the sheer capability to draw, to illustrate and to combine materials.

Our journey always begins with that old sketch, with that old paper. We then take it to the workshop desk and in the midst of greases and screws, we manipulate liquids, pyrotechnics, lights, temperatures, actions and reactions, "casual" bumps or synchronized ones like dominoes. We also pick up lipsticks, brushes, eyeshadow brushes, eyeliners, to simulate a sun kiss on the cheek or to get that perfect top knot.All this happens before pressing the shutter. We then wash the grease off our hands and open the door of the digital world for the advertising or cinematic composition of medium format, where every part is retransformed into a consistent, sturdy and finished whole. This is how we make an image.

This is our process: from the hammer to the light, from the paper to technology, always looking for the most effective and the best suited solution to the creative challenges we face daily.

Ana Isabel Parreira – Design Director, 5W. In addition to campaign development and art direction, my core expertise lies in developing strategic concepts for visual brand identities. My central question is: What explicit and implicit signals do images send, and how can these be used to influence brand perception and brand awareness?

As Design Director at Fuenfwerken Design AG, I developed successful visual concepts for clients such as Weber-Stephen and John Deere, contributing to a lasting transformation of their brand image and increased brand awareness.

My other clients and projects include the Helmholtz Center Munich, Union Investment, Getrag Ford, Lufthansa, Rotkäppchen Mumm, ISUZU, and the Tesch Winery. For several years, I was responsible for the visual and illustration concept of the monothematic magazine "StadtAnsichten" (City Views) for VW Autostadt.

Denise Didion works as a Senior Producer at the film production company SCHOKOLADE film based communication (schokolade.tv) in Berlin.

Linda Ambrosius is a renowned commercial photographer and director who lives and works in Berlin. She specializes in advertising, beauty, fashion, and lifestyle.

Björn Schütrumpf is a German media professional, journalist, and photo editor, best known as Photography Director for renowned lifestyle and sports magazines.

Since the relaunch of Sports Illustrated magazine in the German market in 2022, he has been responsible for the visual design and image selection as Photography Director. At that time, he joined the newly founded Kouneli Sports GmbH along with other executives from the media company Condé Nast.

Prior to Sports Illustrated, he was the long-time Photography Director of GQ Germany in Munich, where he shaped the visual style of the well-known men's style magazine.

In addition to his editorial leadership in the photography department, he is a contributor to Sports Illustrated. He writes articles, particularly about active and cycling travel, such as features on e-bike tours along Sweden's west coast or on crossings of the Alps.

Nina Witschonke is a German creative in the fields of art direction and advertising. She works, or worked, as a Senior Art Director at Accenture Song, Accenture's creative and experience agency. Previously, she worked for many years at renowned agencies in Hamburg.
