‘Wengen stole our hearts’ - Hybrid Editorial by Verena Knemeyer & Annalena Rumler

ANNALENA x VERENA present a new hybrid editorial somewhere between winter road trip, fashion story and AI-generated mountain landscapes. The project began with a real journey to Wengen, Switzerland - a car-free, snow-covered alpine village that fascinated the creatives so deeply it eventually evolved into a complete visual narrative.

The series follows three friends during their winter holiday - between quiet moments, spontaneous adventures and vibrant pop colors in the snow. The result is a mix of real photographed models, studio setups and AI-generated environments inspired by the atmosphere of Wengen and the Swiss Alps.

Verena Knemeyer was responsible for photography and scene development, while Annalena Rumler handled AI photoproduction and postproduction. Together, the duo develops a visual language somewhere between hybrid photography, contemporary outdoor aesthetics and cinematic storytelling. In front of the camera: Linus Keudell, Josie Ehlers and Lorraine Juliette (Styling: Tini Rathe, Hair & Make-up: Steffanie Kroll, DOP: Moritz Fischinger, Digi & Light Tech: Lea Ebert).

“Wengen in Switzerland stole our hearts on an actual vacation. We loved it so much that we turned it into a hybrid story,” say the creatives about the project. More work is already set to follow.

BIJOU BRIGITTE - Verena KNEMEYER stages Valentine’s Day hybrid

For Bijou Brigitte, photographer Verena KNEMEYER teamed up with retouch artist Annalena Rumler to create a poetic hybrid production for Valentine’s Day - soft, feminine and visually weightless.

Titled “Another hybrid by yours truly,” the campaign places the jewellery pieces within a dreamlike scenery of delicate cloud formations and a pastel-toned sky. The set-up combines classic beauty and fashion photography with digital image creation, resulting in a romantic visual world perfectly aligned with the occasion.

The hybrid approach allows for maximum control over light, atmosphere and color grading: soft pastel hues, diffused light and the almost surreal lightness of the scene give the campaign a strong social media aesthetic with clear brand identity.

DIE LEUTE LIEBEN DAS (=PEOPLE LOVE IT) - Photographer Verena Knemeyer and post-producer Annalena Rumler, both artists c/o DOUBLE T PHOTOGRAPHERS, create the artwork for the podcast of singer-songwriter Nina Chuba and her friend Momme Hitzemann

Everyone loves the podcast "Die Leute lieben das" (People Love It) by singer-songwriter Nina Chuba and her boyfriend and drummer Momme Hitzemann. They talk about everything they find important, funny, or absurd, and share anecdotes from their eventful tour life. It's been available every Thursday since September 4, 2025, wherever you get your podcasts.

Photographer Verena Knemeyer and post-producer Annalena Rumler were once again on hand to create the podcast cover and accompanying visuals. The dream team was commissioned by Studio Bummens.

"Playful and with a touch of chaos—poppies, clouds, sheep—and the real chemistry of Nina Chuba & Momme Hitzemann. Our hybrid photography approach: concept, location energy, lighting design, AI photo production, and handcrafted post-production." Verena Knemeyer, photographer, c/o DTP.

Studio Bummens develops, produces, and distributes podcast formats, collaborating with some of Germany's most influential and talented artists. Their shows include top podcasts like “Baywatch Berlin” with Klaas Heufer-Umlauf, “Copa TS” with Tommi Schmitt, “Einfach mal Luppen” with Toni & Felix Kroos, “Plot House” with Visa Vie, and “Apokalypse & Filterkaffee” with Micky Beisenherz.

Studio Bummens was founded in 2019 by Konstantin Seidenstücker, who is also the managing director. He co-founded the podcast production company with Tobias Bauckhage and Jon Handschin.

And no, Nina Chuba and Momme Hitzemann are not a couple, but have been best friends for many years, almost like siblings (if you like your siblings), and of course, musical partners.

Photographer Verena Knemeyer and post-producer Annalena Rumler are both represented by the Hamburg-based agency DOUBLE T PHOTOGRAPHERS aka DTP.
